Technology, Modern Design and Vikings!
The UK software company Beach partners with startups and new initiatives to build product focused companies, while also producing their own application suite of web developers tools. With their diversity of services and products, Beach needed a way to bring everything together under one identity package.
We worked with them on this by creating a range of fun and appealing 3D graphics and assets aimed at the web design and development community. A systems approach was used to provide an efficient way to create visual marketing content and provide continuity across the Beach product range. Additionally, the reusability of 3D assets also allowed Beach to experiment with new technologies and create a mini-site for VR.

Beach derived its name from its location on the south coast of England, which is associated with incredible coastline and Viking raids and also their acquired product range that are named after iron age tools such as Hammer, Forge, Anvil etc. The Viking therefore is a fitting symbol of their company and they had already begun exploring visual ideas on this theme when they hired us.
The main objective was to have the visual identity of the company to appeal to their tech savvy, web developer customer base. We achieved this by drawing on game art and low-poly 3D design. This approach allowed us to combine the disparate elements together in a convincing and appealing manner.
Chisel - From concept to finished illustration
We created a number of Viking characters that were then used across their product range. For example, we designed a character named Ulf that we used for their new headless CMS product called Chisel. She was also used for social media posts and for their website’s chat bot. We also designed a young Viking character that we used for illustrating ideas of exploring new technology.
